Alexander Hemsley
From Baltimore, Alexander Hemsley was a prominent man in Baltimore in the late 1800's. Hemsley, a former cabinet maker, developed a business as a funeral director and collaborated with his son, Perry ( who made coffins ) and John William Locks (who had a hearse business ) : the three of them became well known in East Baltimore for their practice of sharing resources.
