Daniel Coker 1780-1846
Daniel Coker (born Isaac Wright) was a founder of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church Coker was born in 1780 in Baltimore County or Frederick County, Coker fled to New York where he changed his name from Isaac Wright to Daniel Coker and became an ordained Methodist minister.
